So I am looking at building a 5G15 reverb circuit for my 5E3. I'm anxiously awaiting the release of Ted Weber's "AddVerb" unit, which will sit in the rear cavity of the 5E3 cab.
I am currently using a Premier 90 Reverb unit for live use, and I just love the way it sounds, particularly with the warm gain that it adds to the signal.
I used to own a re-issue Fender 5G15, but opted for the tone and gain of the Premier. Would it be possible to add a gain stage, or at least more gain to the circuit of the 5G15? Would using 12ax7's or a tube with more gain work? I'd really like to scale down and have onboard reverb, yet retain at least some of the characteristics from the Premier 90.
Any help or suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks.
