Yes, I learned all about reverb in the hardest way. My first project was trying to install a tube-driven 4FB style tank into my Silvertone 1484 with a modified Ampeg reverb circuit. Never got it to work but I learned a lot. As far as the above subject, the DC resistance of the reverb tfx secondary was 1.5 ohms which is pretty close to what an 8 ohm transducer reads. It was easy to determine that the tank was wrong, and I had to check the transformer to satisfy myself, as the reverb pan was not the only questionable 'repair' done previously on this amp.
I still have the MOD 4FB tank, and I'd like to try the Silvertone retrofit again now that I'm more knowledgeable. Couldn't figure out where to return the reverb signal to. Amp just oscillated or fed back. That is, if I ever get the time to work on one of my own projects again...
