  • Fender Dual Professional reverb help

I just pick up a Fender Dual Professional for a good price but am not happy with the reverb. It is a tube reverb and I have swapped tubes .cable and tank without much change.Does anyone know what I can do to improve the reverb in this amp?

It's just kind of dull and lifeless. Not what I think of as good Fender reverb.I would like it to sound mor full, more like a Twin Reverb.

Have you measured the plate voltage on the reverb driver tube?
They typically are way off for a good 6V6 reverb.
Use a 10-15 watt 2k7 dropping resistor off the B+ node that feeds the reverb OT and lower it down to something more realistic.
Use another filter cap, like 10uF-450v at the junction of the new resistor and the reverb OT.
Also, those reverb tanks are kinds flat sounding too.
Consider using a different one or look for an old, used, grey one on ebay...

Yes... The folks from Acutronics should be taken out and bitch slapped for selling such crappy sounding tanks nowadays.
