I'll have to try some of these ideas. I have a Carvin Quad-X that has a small tank, it's probably not driven as hard as in my Fender but it has a much smaller boing and at full volume it sounds a bit like a hall reverb, this is equivalent to about 3 or 4 on the Fender. I can almost get enough reverb by plugging into the normal channel and cranking the reverb. Cabinet vibration is enough but it seems to favor the lower frequencies. I'm pretty sure my reverb can be coaxed into producing the sounds I like, it's not too far off, but I could like it better.
