Reduce Bassman power

I have a 1968 AB165 50 watt model. Can I remove one of the power tubes to make it 25 watts? I know that only reduces it by 3 dB, but I'd like to try it if it's just a matter of pulling a tube and won't adversely affect anything. To do the same thing on my Peavey Classic, I had to cut pins on 2 of the 4 tubes and reinsert them. Thanks.

No. That trick only works for amps with four (or more) power tubes.
