The mod is this: insted of taking input of v1b from grid of v1a we take it from v1a anode, in this way we have for the crunch channel 4 semi-tubes as the 1-channel version and we can replace cathode resistors with these ones (see 2203-2204), taking away diodes (with a switch maybe).
