  • Fender Princeton reverb AA764 preamp output jack install.

Hi Folks. Where should I tap off the circuit board to get a preamp out? I'm using the trem switch jack for the output jack to power amp, so no drilling the
chassis. I'll be pulling the 6v6s to just use the preamp. Thanks pb

You don't, signal levels through the tube amp are WAY higher than line levels. You are going to have to make a pad to drop the signal to a volt or so.

But somewhere after the channels meet.
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

Agree and add: since a Princeton is a relatively small amp, you may leave the 6V6 in the mix, simply load it with a 25W resistor mounted somewhere in the speaker area, and add a, say, 10k:1k attenuator/signal pad for your line out, even if you will drive an SS power amp and external speakers.

EVH, Yngwie, even Ritchie Blackmore did something similar with excellent results, and the Ultimate Attenuator is about the same.
