  • Change Voicing Question

I am brand new to this forum and have never attempted to change my amp in any way. I have a Carvin Legacay that I love for most things, but sometimes I find it a little dark sounding no matter how I dial things in with the existing tone knobs. I find Marhsalls a bit bright a lot of times, but could use that presence for rhythmn riffs time to time when recording. Is there a mod that I or a local tech could do that would increase the overall presence of my distortion channel or give me an A/B switch to change the voicing when needed?

I have no idea what the possibilities are, but I am curious to hear responses and ideas.

    "Voice of amp...
    Speaker[s [especially]
    Tubes [maybe]
A *boost or other 9v circuits [easy/safe] might get voices you desire, often just a bit of 'pre' distortion and boost can be very useful, can be built relatively inexpensively and to taste, tweeking @9v has it's advantages.
If going inside the amp, unless I had a certain voicing 'gripe' like loose bass or harsh treble..ie without a fairly specific goan in mind, stock tube amp has it's advantages.
It is easist to identify 'weak' links in a signal chain when have the 'stronger' links are available for comparison.
