  • VOX AC15RI PT diagram ?

I'm tribulating about installation of a MM Power Transformer [VXP AC15RI], replacing the VOX RI transformer.
It'd be easier knowing the color-coded wire assignments of the original transformer.
The way it's put together, changing it looks like an easier task than determining the wiring, most of the wires are so well insulated it's very difficult or impossible to get a probe to find connection points.
I don't have an insulation piercer/probe, it'd be so much easier if I knew the PCB wiring assignments or original tranny color code.
Any information on re-PT-ing a RI 16W Vox tranny ?

I don't know WHICH reissue you refer to, I have files on the AC15CC1, AC15H1TV ("hand wired"), and AC15TB.

In any case, like most schematics, wire colors are not mentioned. There is a 6v heater winding and a center tapped HV winding.
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

VOX sent me an AC-15CCI schematic in response to a request and reciept of information about the model and serial #'s was exchanged.
Viewing the schematic, it looks quite simple as heater [BTW thanks for the 6V#] and the CT'd HV winding.
Viewing the inside of the amp there are 7 wires from one side of the tranny and two out of the other ...

I made the cuts and pulled the new-old tranny out.
Set the two irons on the bench, applied AC and took secondary voltages.
The MM reads 847ac on the HV where the VoX read 802vac.
There's a large voltage drop across a 1k resistor, it looks like it might go to the plates, perhaps I should increase it's value?

Why are you replacing the power transformer, if the old one was working?
"Enzo, I see that you replied parasitic oscillations. Is that a hypothesis? Or is that your amazing metal band I should check out?"
