I don't know "AC15', only the Korg RI, and what I've done to it, and don't have to have exactly 'that', but..
always a but..
having come far tonwise installing MM PT/OT [and increase el84 cathode R from 120 to 150 which got rid of 'gitch' tone @ high volume], Alnico Blue or TT speaker, ..then replaced tubes to 12aT7, JJ 12ax7, EH El84's.
Come a long way, excellent / greatly improved.
any suggestions as to what would further improve the amp [I hesitate to say make it 'an' actual AC15], it sounds excellent, and like it's very close to being able to handle being cranked another notch more smoothly.
A touch more grind and a little less chime would be ok.
Suggestions welcome.
Perhaps stiffening B+ capacitence [elsewhere in PS?]
Lowering grid bias resistance in preamp?
I shiddn' consider it, talk of 'what caps'...?
What do you think ?
