    Good point

Yeah, i thought about replacing the baffle, etc, so i could return it ot stock but I think I'll just hook it up to an external speaker and hear that that does. How are achieving feedback? That would be the icing on the cake for me if i could get it with no pedals. anything special?

No pedals, just guitar and cable, I set it on top of my Super Reverb, so the speaker is about the same height as the guitar. If I stand pretty close and turn just right, about 2 feet away, it will sometimes feedback. I'll have to play with it some to find what notes will work and so forth. So far I've only played it a little, and only got a few certain notes to try, and usually I think when I turned so the back of the guitar (strat) was facing the amp so it's trying to vibrate the springs in back too. Bridge pickup. But it did get good controllable feedback, I held it for nearly a minute a couple of times just to see how it would do. This amp would never even think about feedback before.

      I like it...

        eq bypass switch

Am I likely to have noise issues if I put the eq bypass on a toggle switch on the rear panel of my SF Champ? How about the feedback bypass? I don't like push-pull pots and I'd rather not drill the front panel.

        Thanks

I wondered about this myself, really I don't want to drill theback either, but switchable would be nice...although from what little I know about amps, it seems like a fairly good possibility it would introduce noise.

Also kinda off topic, I just rebuilt my 1x12 cabinet, old Utah out of a Peavey PA column I sent to a shop for reconing in about 1991, it has to be a lot more efficient because it's a good bit louder and sounds a lot better, the 8" speaker is about the only drawback to a Champ to begin with. Well, maybe the lack of reverb, but I don't miss it, I run it very low with my Super Reverb. It's actually too loud now, I can't crank it because the neighbors will hear it...

Great for practice with the volume around 4-5 though, enough breakup to sound great and not overly loud.
