I know that this head isn't a popular model to mod but it's what I've got and was wondering if there are any mods out there to bring this thing around. I can only set the EQs of both chanels to one sweet spot and have it come close to sounding like anything. Treb,bass @10-mid @0. rip the knobs off. It was on a 1960 slant and now sits on a 300 watt Line6 4-12.

Marshall AVT50h mods?
The surface-mount component topology doesn't lend itself well to trying different things out.
I would experiment with graphic or parametric EQ inserted in the effects loop as a first step.
Other than that you could unplug the AC cord and insert a different amp between the guitar and speaker (sorry I just had to go there...)

I was just fixing to post the exact same question about my cheesy AVT50h. Besides throwing it away, I took the "brains" out and stuck the chassis I'm building in its place! Fits perfect! ha.. -kyleComment
