  • Output transformer protection fuses

Can anyone explain to me the mod to protect my output transformer on my amp with fuses? I'm just not sure what wires the fuses would go in line with. Also what value fuses would be the best to use? The amp is a 50 watt bassman.

    Thank you

In general, it depends on the amp and what power the amp is rated at... as an example many 50 watt amps use a 500ma fuse in the high voltage, center tap lead of the output tranny's primary.

What formula do you use to arrive at that number?
