I'm looking at modding my 68 CDR but finding clear instructions on the mods for complete beginners is difficult. I'm looking at doing this mod with my Dad (who has rebuilt reel-to-reel machines so has no trouble with electronics) but as I say, we're a bit wary as Rob Robinette's site isn't always clearest to new comers and I've read through the threads on here about taking out the trem and replacing it; but am still a bit unclear.
Urumiko I've watched your vid; but after taking out the two extra trem boards I'm not massively clear where the optocoupler goes.
Mick Bailey I notice you're in the UK too and have worked on these amps; do you have a business name? I'm keen to get mine sounding as good (and as quiet) as possible and if we lose confidence in performing the mods ourselves it'd be good to have the details of a tech with experience. I'm based in the North West (Chester)
Thanks in advance; sorry for the thread revival!
