Vox AC-30 output transformer

Hi, just wondering if you could replace the output transformer in a ac-30 with a super reverb one: specifications:
The one i want to replace it with
Hammond 1750k:
Primary 4,000 C.T
Secondary, 2ohm
Output 50watts

The one they say to replace it with
Hamond 1750V
Primary 4,000C.T
Secondary, 8, 16 ohm
Output 30 watts
could it be done???

thats fine, but you will need a 2 ohm load. if its in a stock combo, then you would probably have to replace speakers. uk speakers tended to be higher impedances, so i doubt you would have two 4 ohm speakers in series to get 8 ohms. if you dont mind a slightly different sound you could put a transformer with 3300-4200 ohms ct, maybe higher.

the other issue is wether the tranny fits the chassis. you will almost surely have to drill new holes, but does it fit in the designated place without being too tall or being too close to the other bits in the amp.
