  • Mark IV Rhytm 2

    Hi,

I'm trying to figure out the Rhythm 2 mode.

    http://www.freeinfosociety.com/elect...iew.php?id=287

According to the schematic above when Rhythm 2 channel is ON RY2(R2) (below 3M3/20pf combo) should be also ON, RY2(R1, L) OFF and RY2(R2) (V2A 15uF cathode bypass cap) ON or is it the opposite?
When looking at Triaxis schematic and other Mesa schematics with similar or same channels the RY2(R2) below 3M3/20pf combo is not there at all. It doesn't make sense for me to be there anyway.

I would appreciate if anyone can advise which one is ON on Rhythm 2. Thanks in advance!

You have it right, the cathode gets bypassed and the sparkle circuit (3M/20p) gets bypassed for some crunch.

Thanks. This means 47n cap->100k/47p to ground and the signal is taken from the cap/combo junction?

The 47p and 680k to gnd that gets kicked in too is probably for oscillation prevention or a little high end rolloff/tone shaping.

RY2 as I far as I can see is a DPDT relay which means that if RY2(R2) is ON, then RY2(R1, L) should be OFF. Adding 680k resistor in parallel with 100k wouldn't change much anyway.

Yup, it's not doing a whole lot.
