  • why do I have a 220k R over my tube?

I'm changing 6v6 tube sockets and notice the original had a 220k from pin 5 to ground. I assume this is a screen grid resistor. The thing is the design I want to do shows instead a 1.5K in series after the coupling cap comming from the PI to pin 5... no ground connectiion shown on schem. Is this an error?
    thanks.

the finals will be cathode biased.

That is not a screen grid resistor, the screen grid is pin 4. Pin 5 is the control grid, which we often just call the grid.

Yep you need that 220k there for grid leak/bias.
