  • Ampeg V-2 / V-4 / SVT theoretical question

Can anyone much, much smarter than I am tell me how much gain (if any) the 6K11 compactron stage in an Ampeg V-2 /V-4 / SVT type circuit would produce with the mid control set flat? It's a really complicated circuit with an NFB loop, a tapped inductor, etc. Short of building a prototype copy, I'm stumped. Even an approximate number would be a big help.

I think I figured it out. I was able to find a V-4 service manual with AC voltages with the mid set flat listed. After doing some reverse voltage calculations, it appears that the gain is essentially 1X.

absolutely correct, and if you look at the V4B, the 6k11 is replaced with 1/2 of a 12DW7, again with a net gain of 1

        Thanks for confirming my calculations!
