Hello
I had a question or two about using an EL84 in triode mode as a reverb driver tube without the transformer ala ampeg. If triodes are less finicky about the load then pentodes would an EL84 be able to drive the spring transducer at 1.9k load-- so the accutronics 8fxxx. The data sheet states that the load for triode mode at 250 volts is around 3.5k so would lowering the B+ to 200V be getting closer to the ballpark? I'm not quite sure how to calculate the plate resistor on this circuit-- any help would be greatly appreciated.
This is for a standalone reverb and tremolo unit (I'll be asking some questions about the tremolo section soon for sure) I have a transformer that might work but I'm interested in forgoing that because of cost and well I have a tank at that high impedance already.
Thanks for your reply
