Startup surge? When empty caps have powr applied, the current surge is due to the effective low resistance of the empty cap. It sucks current as a low value resistor might. The bleeders are under no stress from it. They are in a similar situation to say a 220k resistor across a speaker.

Need help identifying location for standby switch

This works great everyone. Just got it all wired up today.
With regard to the voltages I'm getting out of each leg of this supply though, the original schematic calls for what looks like 460v I think, although I am getting 480v out right on the nose.
The amp I'm running this in is a heavily modified bogen chb-35a, but the OT is still the original one. Is it safe to run 480v into the OT rather than the original 460v? (I assume this is because AC today is a bit higher than it would have been when this amp was built?)
It also means the voltage going to my power tubes is a bit higher, but still within spec for the 7868 (tube I'm using) according to my datasheets.
