  • AC15 Schematic

First off, Happy New Year! Hope all is well with you and yours.

I've been wanting to do an AC15 build but the only schematics I can find are very poor quality. I do have an AC30 schematic that's pretty good. Can I just drop 2 of the output tubes and go from there? Are they the same circuit with just the added tubes in the AC30?

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi

Because the vintage AC15 did differ from AC30s here's the best thing you can do:

    - just build it (the AC30) with 2 EL84s/6BQ5s

    - use a GZ34/5AR4, 5V4 or EZ81 rectifier for about 320 Volts B+

    - change the single cathode-resistor for the outputtubes to 100 ohms or 150 ohms (longer life for the tubes)

    Hope this helps!
    Love, peace & loudness,
    Chris

      Doc,

This schematic looks pretty readable for an old Vox print:

It seems there are different versions of the AC15, and there are several other AC15 schematics at this same (Free Info Society) site.

You can also modify the AC30 circuit as Chris outlined, which should work quite well.
