  • How to design with Schematic Program?

I never have designed any schematic with a design program on the computer yet, because I never had the time to get familiar with one of these programs.

But now it's unavoidable and I finally have to quit my practise with drawing schematics by hand, because it's simply robbing too much time.

Yesterday I've downloaded ExpressSch and tried my first steps, but very soon I had to stop again, because I've neverwhere there found any symbols for tubes

Lots of different semiconductors there, but not one tube symbol!

Neither a symbol for an OT w/ CT on primary, nor taps on the secondary!

    Aso. aso.

    Arrrrggrrrr!

Who can help - or maybe recommend another better suited program for designing schematics?

Where the symbol library does not provide, the designer must create new symbols for the library. Go to a LOT of trouble to build symbols that really work for you - you'll be using them a lot and you won't want to put up with poor ones.

Or find another schematic capture tool that already has the symbols you want.

I've moved from PCs to Macs and the two schematic tools I have for it are McCAD and DesignWorks - both of which have tube symbols - they're just crappy symbols that aren't built in a useful way.

Some day when I feel like making the effort, I'll make new symbols that are more to my liking.

Hope this helps! (and good luck)
