  • Oscilloscope Questions

I'm currently working on my first guitar amp design and am thinking I'll want to get an oscilloscope and audio signal generator to test signal levels throughout the circuit. Also for the purpose of verifying my design is functioning as I intended it to (i.e. distortion is occurring in the stage I intended etc).

I researched the threads on this forum and think I have a good handle on what I need. I'm tempted to get something new with a warranty rather than take a chance with a used one on ebay.

There's a couple of oscilloscopes I found that I think would be good.
    This one:
BK Precision 2120B, 30 MHz Dual-Trace Oscilloscope, B+K Precision 2120-B - at Test Equipment Depot

    or this one:
    20MHz Oscilloscope with Function Generator | Tenma | 72-6805 (726805)

I've read good things about BK-Precision. The Tenma seems convenient as it has a built in signal generator.

I have this in mind for a signal generator but just want to confirm it's appropriate for what I'm doing:
BK Precision 3001 20 Hz-150 kHz Sine/Square Wave Audio Generator, B+K Precision 3001 - at Test Equipment Depot

Normally I wouldn't rush this as I don't expect to need it for a few months yet but the BK-Precision 2120B is currently at a great sale price and I'm afraid if I wait too long it'll be too late.

In summary I just want to confirm these items I posted links to are suitable for my needs in case I decide to make a quick purchase.

    Thanks,

    Greg
