  • Coax Cable

I am not sure if this thread belongs here. Sorry if it doesnt.

I am wondering where to get high quality guitar cable? What is so special about George L?

As I understand it the George L system does not need a soldering iron, which may be very useful for some. I have no experience with it, but I guess as Doug Hoffmann stocks it, it should be a fine cable.

Everyone will have a different opinion on what makes a good quality cable. It is like olive oil, you can either try out as many a you can, to make your own mind up, or just blind-buy the best you can afford.
IMHO it all boils down to:
    1. a reasonably low capacitance cable
    2. which is robust
    3. but still lies flat on the floor
    4. and coils/rolls well for storage.
Often a cable can only tick two of those boxes.

Being in Europe I ended up with Austrian and German cables:
happy with Klotz La Grange and Sommer Cable SC-Classique tweed. The sommer cable lies flatter but I take the Klotz for recording. Good luck!
