  • 1n4007 rect. arrangement ?

The amp 18 watt I'm building originally has a tube rect and I'm gonna go S.S.

The turret board has 1-row of 3, then 1-row of 4. Is this as simple bringing both 290v taps to the top 2-turrets, running 4 or 5 1n4007's in series, then to the standby and on to the first filter cap (32/32uf can) ?? Seems correct, first time though....Thanks

You probably only need 1 diode on each side of the HT winding for an 18Wer.

(Calculation for PIV is here. The Valve Wizard)

But in terms of backup in case one of them shorts, 2 diodes in series on each side would be ample methinks

Thanks tubes, I'll run 4 just to be safe, now the stripe on the diode faces towards or away from the current ??

The cathode/stripe ends point (away from PT) towards the reservoir cap.
