SOmewhere back around 1970, in the days if two wire mains cords, we were playing a club, and at one point the guitar player walked up near his mic and his guitar strings touched the mic stand and in a lovely burst of light, the E-string burnt in half.

Of course it was the high E, so he was not in any serious danger...
