  • Bias Trem in 5F4?

    Hi,

I am planning to build a 5F4 based amp (something like this https://taweber.powweb.com/store/5f4_schem.jpg) with added bias tremolo. Enzo has already helped me with a question but some things still aren't quite clear yet. I thought about using the tremolo circuit of a Princeton Reverb (https://taweber.powweb.com/store/6a14_schem.jpg) because the phase inverter and power stage are very similar. Maybe I have to adapt a couple of values because of the different output tubes (6L6 vs. 6V6) but I see no reason why this shouldn't work. ok, so much for the theory ...

Here's my question: How cruical is the plate voltage of the tremolo triode and in what voltage range should it be? I was not able to find a princeton schematic with voltages so I wonder if I should hook it up to the power supply of the PI or the preamp tubes. In the princeton it is before the voltage dropping resistor of the preamp tubes but I don't know if the princeton is working within similar voltage ranges as the super. Any Ideas?

    Thanks!

Check out the vibrato-trem circuit of a tweed 5F11 too.

Thanks ... haven't thought of the Tweed Vibrolux. Is there a practical advantage of one of these circuits over the other?
