  • How to add reverb to my Fender Tremolux(ab763) clone idea?

    Hello,

Was looking into the idea of cloning my Dad's old blackface 66 fender tremolux. I would like to add reverb to my build. With the schematic(Tremolux AB763) showing what the b+ supply, Would the supply be able to handle me connecting it into the B point on the schematic to power the reverb section? Can i keep the same filter cap orientation as per/(Tremolux AB763) or should i use the one in the Vibroverb filter supply? What are the repercussions of using the Tremolux Filter supply? or is their none? Thanks Dan

I own a 63 Tremolux with two original cabinets. Although I use it, it isn't my favorite Fender amp. I just use a reverb pedal on the input. I have used a Fender stand alone tube reverb with it. My recommendation would be to build the amp and the reverb unit. The reverb unit gives you more gain and you could also use it on other amps. But seriously, play a Delux Reverb before you clone the Tremolux. IMHO it's a much better amp and the design work is already done.

      olddawg,

thanks for the repy. Thought it would be easy to do, seeing that it is an ab763. i have the trannies for the Tremolux already. just wanted to make sure the theory is sound. maybe somebody may have tried something like this before?

IMHO I would just build the AB763 Fender Super Reverb circuit.
