Can Peavey Scorpion magnets be swapped around?

Wondering if I can place a magnet from a 12" 8 ohm Scorpion speaker to a 15" 4 ohm Scorpion speaker? Physically it fits and I have it bolted in.

if it sounds like it works it likely will, Peavey is big on interchangeability! Make sure you clean the gap with adhesive tape before buttoning it up. The basket/magnet designs have changed a bit over the years but PV usually keeps the bolt compatibility if the parts are indeed interchangeable. You could call to be sure, 877-732-8391 they are great!

The first magnet I tried from my collection of retired 12" made a scraping sound when pushing the cone in/out. The second one (slightly different look magnet) made no noise. Tested it and the 15" sounded great with its new magnet.

Just curious, why did you replace its magnet?
Also: I bet the scratchy one is fine, but dirty.
