  • Townshend CP103 Hiwatt tone control- have you tried it?

Has anyone out there ever played with it? I've been toying with building an amp using it and I'm wondering how it sounds.

Can you post a link to exactly what you are talking about?
WARNING! Musical Instrument amplifiers contain lethal voltages and can retain them even when unplugged. Refer service to qualified personnel.

Phatt in SSGuitar has studied, built and modded it to death, with very good results.
It's so good that he even adapted it into pedal form, so you can add it to any amp.

Long story short- considering building another big amp, debating between the full hiwatt preamp, a preamp with the CP103 tone stack, and a DR Z KT-45 sort of thing with the good ol' Traynor tone circuit. It'll be used with pedals I figure something flatter with some treble boost would be most versatile.
