  • Hammond Transformer 167J60

I was given a brand new but old stock obsolete Hammond transformer , model 167J60, by an older friend. He thought I might be able to use it in an amp. Looking it up I find it is a "Filament and L.V. Resist. " transformer which is somewhat Greek to me. It's various values don't look usable for an amp and it doesn't have enough secondary leads, I believe.
Can anyone tell me what this might be used for, and is it more than a dandy doorstop?
    Thanks.

If that transformer is what I find in Hammond Catalog 5C-00 (year 2000?) , it's 60VCT at 1 amp. It should have 5 wires. Not much good for tubes but would power a small solid state amp of about 30W at 4 ohms.
WARNING! Musical Instrument amplifiers contain lethal voltages and can retain them even when unplugged. Refer service to qualified personnel.
REMEMBER: Everybody knows that smokin' ain't allowed in school !
