  • Problem with my SPICE model?

    Hello everyone,

I have a problem with my LTSpice model of a 2xEL84 amplifier based on a VOX AC30. There is no output. Anyone care to take a look at it? "Potentiometer_standard.asy" should be put in your \LTC\LTspiceIV\lib\sym\Misc folder.

The simulation runs fine but the signal seem to disappear soon after the tone stack.

Might be having a premature here as I don't use LTSpice but some other brands.

R17 and R18 have 1m on them, in the spice I use that would be interpreted as 0.001 Ohms, I think you need to enter these as "1Meg" or at least "1M".

That would certainly explain what you are seeing.

It is one of those small differences between various brands of spice which often catch folk by the proverbials.

    Cheers,
    Ian

That was it... Thank you! It's strange, because when you enter 1M, it displays 1m, so I thought it was the same thing to LTSpice. But it's not.

It's a compatibility issue. The original SPICE was not case sensitive, so it could not distinguish between "M" and "m". Most current versions still "fold case" because otherwise there would be problems when using older model libraries.
