  • H&K Switchblade 100 Guitar Amp Head

    Hi,

This is new and fully programmable tube amp with digital effects module. I'm curious whether they did it the Triaxis way or the JMP-1 way?

    So am I - what's the JMP-1 way?

/ never mind - found a JMP1 schemo at schematic heaven -- hybrid: silicooties + tubes.

I found a picture of the inside. Unfortunately it's small but you can notice few interesting things there.

Does it also have a toroidal xformer as an OT ?

How does this sound, not too sterile ?

        Regards, Alf

It looks to me like the second toroidal transformer /to the right/ is the OT.

And what about the sound Gregg ?

Can you compare it to a regular OT ?
I always heard that they might start to sound a bit harsh when pushed .
Could you tell a bit more about this ?

            Thanks , Alf

Unfortunately I can't comment on the sound because I don't own such an amp nor I've listened to any. I got the picture from the net.
Technically creating a gap in a toroidal core is not a problem but it would require some experiments until you get it right.
