  • Pentode into Cathodyne PI

Hey, just wondering if this will work to balance the PI as there is no cap? I added a few resistor to the circuit. (thanks to the original designer!)

I really love the sound of this tube and arrangement. I has a normal 12ax7 in there prior but thought the pentode would help the return level. It sure did and would be a killer upgrade for a simple effects loop approach and nearly perfect drive levels. It even distorts the 6v6 some. But one side it brighter than the other for some reason.

    thanks

DC coupling is tricky business. I think it would be easier to just replace the 680k you added with a .022 to .01 cap and let the cathodyne balance itself.

OK thanks. I guess I should omit the feedback resistor for now. Soldered in is a 1Meg grid resistor though. I'm actually installing the arrangement into my Hiwatt rebuild here right now. So thinking this will suffice to drive the two KT88s which will also be individual, cathode bias.
