  • Homebrew ideas ?

Im still tweaking on my homebrew amp . Its sounding pretty good, but heres the issue:
from 1-4 on the mv, the amp sounds pretty decent . When the mv is at 5-8 the amp ROARS to life! Gets REAL thick.

Im looking for ideas to get that goodness at lower settings on the mv. Yes, i understand that what im hearing is the power tubes getting it on..

Today im trying a PPIV master to hear the difference.

    Any other suggestions?

Amp is basically a "hot" jcm 800 style, 3-12ax7, 2-EL34.

    WOW-

the ppiv mod did just want i wanted !

the amp stays even now at all volumes.

Gave a BIG gain boost as well.

HMMM.... my tone controls are not working properly now. If they are all on 10, the amp sounds pretty good. But when i turn them down, the amp gets real ugly, flabby bass, "assy" , etc...

i havent changed my 25k presence to a 2.5k like the scem shows.

The best homebrew idea is all-barley fully modified malt.
Amazing!! Who would ever have guessed that someone who villified the evil rich people would begin happily accepting their millions in speaking fees!

Oh, wait! That sounds familiar, somehow.

It may be that the bass is increasing when the master volume is turned down.
