Tube Question

A friend gave me a pair of EL34's tonight. One was a PhillipsECG EL34 and the other just USA with 6CA7/EL34 but the glass was fatter than that of the other. I have never dove that deep into the world of tubes to recognize what the difference is if any. And can you use them together in an amp?

As long as they both test good, you can use them together assuming the biases are close enough.

The EL34 Philips is really an old Chinese model (very fragile electrically). The other seem to me an 6CA7 Sylvania but with bad look. Be careful where you put them
