Chuck, I know from the other thread you linked you were talking about bypassing by way of a big filter cap right at the screen, in the same way as a cap across a cathode resistor is called a "bypass". This would not necessarily negate individual screen resistors.
I think what cyclone means by bypass is shorting out the screen resistors and just wiring the power supply screen node direct to screens.
I guess in the latter case, the screen supply cap becomes the "bypass" cap anyway, so perhaps this is just semantics?
