    I found a high-gain driver, but your comments about level shift are also a concern. My triode-PI prototype used AC coupling on the PI output so DC levels were not an issue. I think the the fix below deals with both issues (nice when it works out that way). The +/- drive is now active so driver gain is less critical. Also, a dc level shift is accomplished by the cathode resistors, while ac levels are set by the divider on the CF input. It should now be possible to center and limit the SS swing to avoid any clipping - or limit it - whatever sounds right. Thanks!

      My Hybrid Amp project is recently done and I'm pretty happy with it. 40w at 24lbs in a Princeton Cab.
      Lots of new ideas (to me at least). The PI and AOT output stage worked out pretty well IMO.
      Three stages have intentional time-varying circuit behaviors - a topic discussed in a recent thread.
