Alignment of choke laminations?

HI,
I am rebuilding a Traynor Guitarmate and have mostly gutted the chassis.I want to put a choke in between the OT center tap and the screen supply.Which way should I align the choke during installation so that it doesn't pick up noise from the PT?

Don't worry about the choke picking up hum. It's in the power supply, not the signal path. A bigger problem is the OT picking up hum from the choke. So if I had to choose between opposing the PT or OT laminates, I would definitely start with the laminates opposite the OT and see how it sounds.
