If you were to use the worst-case values I suspect 99% of guitar amps wouldn't make the grade wrt to output stage plate dissipation.
It's straightforward enough to determine the plate dissipation for a signal of a well defined wave shape and amplitude, but what is best practice for real signals? Would the use a certain crest factor be best? Should we assume the signal is clipped by the preamp?
