  • Fender Opto Coupler

    I need an Optocoupler for the tremolo in my Bandmaster based build. Figure I just make one myself rather than get one posted from the US.
    Does anyone have the specs on what the photocell & neon bulb should be?

    I bent the leads of the LDR so that it can be fitted to the side of the neon. It might work end-on but I never tried.
    Experience is something you get, just after you really needed it.

      That's helpful information, and believe it or not, it's pretty hard to find these specs by searching online. I ended up rolling my own, using a generic neon bulb and a photocell that ranged from 5M (dark) to 2k (light). I guess got lucky because it worked.

      I think this information needs to be in a FAQ somewhere...
