Hmm. I take it that this is an AUS 240V version so you would not be exceeding that in NZ?
    Heaters are close to 6.3V?
It's not that it's way out of tolerance or anything but it just seems odd to have these kind of bias (& tube life expectancy) issues with a new model.

Tubeswell, What does it sound like with the 1/4 power switch engaged? Is it useable or does it degrade the tone too much? I only play in the bedroom these days and could use some attenuation (or so my wife says).

      Thanks

It sounds pretty good (when its all biased up properly). It breaks up above about '5' on the volume the dial. Its not even as clean as a BFPR. The full power switch gives it a good kick, but it still needs mic'ing in a club. The 1/4 power switch does make it somewhat quieter and more tolerable on old eardrums at home. The tremolo is nice too.

If you're only using <20W amps then a 50W Lpad is cheap, adjustable (1/4 power is still likely too loud for domestic use) and can be mounted on a bracket in the cab.

            Hello,
I live in france, my name is Thomas. I have recently acquired a used Tremolux EC and noticed a problem with the Tremolo (other than that amp sounds great). The tremolo produces a thumping sound in the speaker, low frequency, very annoying.
I have looked through various forums about bias tremolo circuits. I have tried to play with R32 and R35 values (installing a pot there, like suggested elsewhere for the Vibro Champ EC). I can turn down the intensity, the thumping is gone, but the tremolo is gone as well, whenever I get into a range where I can hear the tremolo, the thumping is back.
I've had a technician check the amp, all components are correct, he couldn't find any explanation. We both noticed the high B+, well above the specs on the schematics (which I could post, if needed). Something like 40 or 50V above on TP1 TP2 and TP3.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
            Thomas
