  • Potentially stupid question concerning OTs

    Hello.

I am in the process of building up a Trainwreck Express into an old Hammond Organ chassis. The OTs that I have available - which came from my Hammond organ chassis junkpile) are rather small and have proven to not be that great sounding when used with the Matchless and Marshall clones I have built - they simply don't have the capability to produce the full bandwidth I am getting when I switch them over to the WestLabs OTs.

Anyway, I am sure that once I get this Wreck up and running, I'll purchase a suitable OT. But for now, I am wondering if it is possible to use two OTs in parallel in an attempt to achieve the performance of a single, larger OT.

I am fairly certain that this is a stupid idea, but I had to ask.

    Thanks,
    Greg

I'll bet you could use four of those with the windings connected in series/parallel pairs, I would guess they'd do what you want.

Two in parallel (or series) though - wouldn't want to try it... bet it involves graphs.
