Thanks! Fancy it sitting there all that time - wonder if it has another use. Mind you they sell JJs also.

        Hi all,

Sorry about the bad link. I tested it and it seemed to work, but I guess only because I had a session going with the RS server.

Joe, as far as I know those small transformers are always very inefficient, though I'm not sure why. I think they have a lot of iron losses, and also run partly saturated, all to save cost.

Before you get too excited over that Oxford Electronic Products mini O.T, I noticed that they specify the primary inductance as 12 Henries. So we would expect its LF rolloff to begin at about 200Hz, since that's the frequency at which 12H has a reactance of 15k Ohms. Possibly not a good choice for 5-string bass

The ECC99 might be able to force it down below 100Hz with its low plate resistance. And even with a 200Hz rolloff, it might suit a small open-backed combo with a single 8" or whatever. Bass just tends to flap the cone uselessly in a small amp like that.
"Enzo, I see that you replied parasitic oscillations. Is that a hypothesis? Or is that your amazing metal band I should check out?"
