Thanks g1, but I think that was if I was using the stock choke and 5E8-A circuit. Since I have wired the power supply as per the 5F8-A, idle current should not be an issue as I am using new production Mercury Magnetics transformers and the plate current is not flowing through the choke.

I was just pointing out a consideration / constraint that readers may wish to bear in mind should they want their amp to operate as the designer intended.
Regarding Mercury Magnetics, I think they make a wide variety of transformers, some marketed as having the same specs as particular vintage transformers, others marketed as having some specs upgrated etc.
So far, only you know what which MM models you've got; if they're the original vintage spec, then the much higher idle current that 6L6GC facilitate may be above their rating. However, as MM don't tend to publish specs, you may not know the actual ratings.
Bear in mind that in re-arranging the HT as described, the HT voltage will rise and hence the max HT current that the circuit may draw will tend to follow suit.My band:- http://www.youtube.com/user/RedwingBand
