  • AA720 Twin Reverb supply node values

I am recapping a SFTR and found the 2.2 destroyed and the 10K sitting at over 18K. The 2.2K is between B and C nodes, and the 10K is between C and D. I have already changed the PI and bias circuit to blackface, should I do the same here? Are these values CBS used to make "improvements"? So, change them or stay with what is there now? One thing I am not interested in doing is making the amp louder. Thanks.

    edit: that should read AB270

One way for that kind of resistor damage to happen would be failing very leaky filter caps. As for the proper values & replacing them, it never hurts to stay with the stock values. To go with more familiar values like 1K and 4K7, that's not going to much affect total power capability. It may "tighten & brighten" the tone just a tad, as the node voltages would rise. And you could go the other direction just as easily, 10K and 10K or even more for the second resistor, for a more relaxed response with lower voltages in the preamp.
This isn't the future I signed up for.

Thank you. I went with the 1K & 4.7K, amp seems to like it.
