      Peavey made a Bass amp in the 70's simply called Bass Combo (IIRC). It had a parametric midrange with Frequency, Bandwidth and Mode (boost or cut) controls. Pretty hard to duplicate with tubes but the SVT comes close. I always really liked it in spite of the solid state tone of the rest of the amp.
      WARNING! Musical Instrument amplifiers contain lethal voltages and can retain them even when unplugged. Refer service to qualified personnel.
      REMEMBER: Everybody knows that smokin' ain't allowed in school !

        I think the official name was Combo, with bass COMBO on the panel. I don't have the schematic scanned.

          Just as a side comment:
          1) make a list of 5 and 6 string Bass players you like.
          2) check what amplifiers (and other gear) they use.
          3) get relevant schematics and study them, it might help.
