    Any chance that this amp was recently recapped and now the customer wants the old 'feel' back?

      As stated in post #1 it is being run at 115v with a bucker. And, yes the caps were replaced during this job, but the less stiff feel complaint was from before this. He now has the amp back, having witnessed me measuring the two rectos under variac 155v conditions, and presenting him with the math. He's in the hands of his therapist now.
      It's weird, because it WAS working fine.....

        It's still beneficial to check the heater voltage; I think that Fender may have been fitting 110V PTs to some domestic models in the late 50s.

          Perhaps even in some 60s amps, PTs intended for 110V were being fitted https://www.thegearpage.net/board/in...#post-27861081

          my '64 Deluxe Reverb yields the same 6.3vac on the heaters when the wall voltage (supplied by the variac) is at 110vac
