  • nfb to ot secondary tap w/o connected speaker?

In a bassman 5f6'ish circuit, if a 2,4,8 ohm multitap ot is used, does it work to
connect the nfb 56k resistor to a tap that doesn't have a speaker
    connected to it.
For example nfb to 2 ohm tap and speaker to 8 ohm tap?

Assuming all the taps have a common (-) wire, go right ahead and do that.
If you have to do things with multiple wires to select an output impedance, it gets a little more complicated - in that case, I would tap the NFB from the 8-ohm (or whatever you're gonna use) tap and (be prepared to) scale the resistors that feed it to the PI.

    Hope this helps!

The signal voltage is present at the tap whether there is a speaker connected there or not. So the NFB will happen regardless.
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

Yes, I think that typically, the amp's NFB is 'scaled' to a single tap..in the mutli-tap configuration.

Pick yer tap, and use that voltage for the resistor ratios.

          Thanks for the answers.
I thought there must be some amps that have speaker impedance selector
switches and nfb, but I ask the guys how knows instead of checking 100
          schematics on the net
Honestly I thought a connected speaker would affect the nfb circuit somehow.
But I got minimal experience with nfb amps.
