      Well, it's not semantics to me there's no active filtering in your schemo beside fixed local NFB.

      To me it's better to do it parallel. One low pass for the bass. One band pass for teh mids, and one high pass for the trebles. all of that summed in another low pass filter, with a -3db point around 6000hz, may be made variable as a presence. Let say 3000 to 8000hz. JMHO.
